Koryn Sheppard is a State BAR CERTIFIED Family Law Specialist based in San Diego. In order to become a specialist, attorneys must have the required experience and continuing education REQUIREMENTS. they must go through formal examination and must submit references. In addition, they must continue to take legal education classes in family law and report consistently.
koryn has practiced family law since 2009. using her extensive experience, she guides families through the legal system, specializing in divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, and mediation. Notably, Koryn possesses significant expertise in handling military divorce matters, she is often appointed by the court as a minor's counsel and qualified as a discovery referee.
Beyond her legal practice, Koryn actively contributes to the legal community. She held a position on the Family Law Bar Association Board and officer positions on the foothills bar board, engages as a Mandatory Continuing Legal Education presenter, volunteers for the lawyer’s club and pro bono services in San diego, is an Adjunct Professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, and teaches yoga weekly.
Koryn ran a judicial campaign in the 2023/2024 year. she received SUBSTANTIAL voter support, the endorsement of 13 judicial officers, community leaders, such as Senate President Pro Tempore toni atkins, a vast number of attorneys and legal professionals, and respected legal organizations such as the family law bar association, San Diego Public Defenders association, and the FILIPINO-AMERICAN association.
koryn was honored to receive an “exceptionally qualified” rating, the highest possible rating, from the san diego county bar association.
